MDM Server and automatic deployment
Hello all, We have built our own MDM solution as we plan to support quite a few devices running iOS. Manual activation is running fine and devices are checking in. We have setup ABM with Device management service setup and linked to our MDM. We have added reseller via Apple customer number and purchased devices are showing in ABM. We have setup default management service assignment as well. When we are setting up a device it gives an error: Remote Management The configuration for your iPhone could not be downloaded from . cancelled Error in the device log is as follows: Jun 11 14:16:36 iPhone Setup(DMCUtilities)[626] : <DMCHTTPRequestor: 0x84cfd7d40> cannot accept the authentication method NSURLAuthenticationMethodClientCertificate Jun 11 14:16:36 iPhone Setup(CFNetwork)[626] : Task <663D2346-4B73-4DB2-A134-B1A7DC58E70B>.<1> auth completion disp=2 cred=0x0 Jun 11 14:16:36 iPhone Setup(CFNetwork)[626] : Task <663D2346-4B73-4DB2-A134-B1A7DC58E70B>.<1> summary for task failure {transaction_duration_ms=285, response_status=-1, connection=7, reused=1, reused_after_ms=0, request_start_ms=0, request_duration_ms=0, response_start_ms=0, response_duration_ms=0, request_bytes=0, request_throughput_kbps=0, response_bytes=0, response_throughput_kbps=0, cache_hit=false} Jun 11 14:16:36 iPhone Setup(CFNetwork)[626] : Connection 7: TLS Client Certificates encountered error 1:89 Jun 11 14:16:36 iPhone Setup(CFNetwork)[626] : Task <663D2346-4B73-4DB2-A134-B1A7DC58E70B>.<1> finished with error [-999] Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain Code=-999 UserInfo={NSErrorFailingURLStringKey=, NSErrorFailingURLKey=, _NSURLErrorRelatedURLSessionTaskErrorKey=, _NSURLErrorFailingURLSessionTaskErrorKey=, NSLocalizedDescription=} Jun 11 14:16:36 iPhone Setup(CFNetwork)[626] : Connection 7: encountered error(1:89) Jun 11 14:16:36 iPhone Setup(CFNetwork)[626] : Connection 7: cleaning up Jun 11 14:16:36 iPhone Setup(CFNetwork)[626] : Connection 7: summary for unused connection {protocol="http/1.1", domain_lookup_duration_ms=0, connect_duration_ms=0, secure_connection_duration_ms=0, private_relay=false, idle_duration_ms=0} Jun 11 14:16:36 iPhone Setup(DMCUtilities)[626] : <DMCHTTPRequestor: 0x84cfd7d40> failed to communicate with the MDM server. Platform SSO with Entra on Tahoe - Is it working in Beta 1
This test setup is Jamf Pro as the MDM with Entra as the IdP. PSSO is working on Sequoia devices. Prior to Tahoe, PSSO required the following three items: An existing local account, the delivery of Company Portal, and a profile containing PSSO payload. Based on the Tahoe announcement, it looks like PSSO is now available during Setup Assistant, removing the requirement of first creating a local account. I assume this means that the requirements now as easy as deploying Company Portal and the PSSO profile during the Pre-Stage policy. I attempted this on the macOS 26 beta 1 and during Setup Assistant, with the PSSO profile delivered, Setup Assistant prompts me to login to my IdP. However, pressing Continue will result in a failure, notifying me that the application required is not available. The continue button is now inactive but a "try again" button is available. This results in the loop of trying and then failing, stating that the required application is not available. I eventually must quit Setup Assistant which exits it and drops me at the login window. The only account that is visible is the management account. A trip into DFU and an IPSW restore then follows. Am I trying this too soon? Is PSSO at Setup Assistant not yet fully supported? Is there another requirement other than delivering Company App in the prestige alongside the profile? I've enabled the beta channel in MAU but there is no newer Company Portal being offered. Any guidance here would be appreciated as this is the PSSO announcement I've been waiting for since the deprecation of Apple Enterprise Connect.

Enterprise App Installation Fails on iOS 18.5 with Integrity Error
I am a developer distributing an enterprise app. Recently, some users have intermittently encountered an error message on iOS 18.5 stating: "Unable to install this app because its integrity could not be verified." While the issue could not be reproduced on iPhone 15 / iOS 18.5, we have received reports that it does occur on the following devices: iPhone 14 / iOS 18.5, iPhone 14 Pro / iOS 18.5, iPhone 14 Plus / iOS 18.5, iPhone 16 Pro Max / iOS 18.5, Are there any known issues or recommended solutions regarding this behavior? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

How to test ManagedAppConfigurationProvider without MDM
How to test ManagedAppConfigurationProvider without MDM ? Task { /* Configuration provider task */ for await configuration in configurationProvider.configurations(MyAppConfiguration.self) { self.configuration = configuration ?? MyAppConfiguration.defaultConfiguration } } Can the existence of a configuration be simulated, e.g. by storing a mocked configuration in UserDefaults? The UserDefaults key "com.apple.configuration.managed" seems not relevant here.

What is the URL Scheme of Native Apple Translation app?
I'm the IT Admin in my company. We use Microsoft Intune, which is a Mobile Device Management tool, to manage our devices and apps. I created an app protection policy, restricting the data can only be shared between the allowed apps. For example, if our user want to copy the content in Outlook for iOS to WeChat or personal memo, the action will be blocked. However, may be it's too strict, here is the scenario that we need to hadle: A user selected the content in the Outlook for iOS mail, and wanted to use the "translate" function to do translation. Before the app protection policy was deployed, he can do the translation successfully. And now, it's blocked. Therefore, we need to find a way to exempt the app "Translate" so that users can do the translation successfully. We put the value "com.apple.Translate"(this is a package ID listed in the official document of Apple) to the exemption, but it's not working. May I know what is the correct "value" for the iOS native Translate APP? I need to put this value to our app protection policy to exempt Translate app. Thank you so much.

Error install in-house App on iPhone 16e
We are going to replace our iPhone SE to iPhone 16e. The issue is that we are unable to install an in-house app on the new iPhone 16e. The app works on the iPhone SE Both phones run on the same iOS version (18.5) Has anyone else experienced the same issue? I initially thought the iPhone 16e was the successor to the iPhone SE

GetToken for service type com.apple.maid is not working
I have created a jwt token with headers { 'typ': 'JWT', 'alg': 'RS256' } and claim as : { 'iss': dep server UUID from Accounts call, 'iat': epoc time in seconds, 'jti': random uuid, 'service_type': 'com.apple.maid' } And signed the token with private key created during DEP MDM server creation. On the device I see Verification error when tried to login with Managed Apple account. In ABM, Access management setting was set to Managed Devices /Supervised only. Any help would be appreciated.

macOS login issue with federation
We have couple of devices that are registered into Platform SSO, and we have been noticing an issue when the user tried to login. After the users enters the password and hit the return key nothing happens, they need to hit the return key probably 10-15 times in order for the login to happen, the password entered is the correct one and it's just that hitting the return key doesn't invoke the login. On checking the log of the device one unusual thing that we noticed as compared to a different device where the login is working in a single go is that the AppSSOAgent or AppSSODaemon process were not getting invoked

No such module 'DeviceManagement'
I'm working on the companion iOS app for my purpose-built MDM system. when I use the following in a .swift file: import DeviceManagement I get the build issue: No such module 'DeviceManagement' When I attempt to add the framework in the Frameworks, Libraries, and Embedded Content settings, DeviceManagement doesn't even show up in the available frameworks. Alll the documentation I can find suggests that is the correct framework to import, but I'm new to this and not sure if I'm just missing something. Some AI help is suggesting that the culprit might be v16.x of Xcode, but I don't know enough to prove that correct or not. Any ideas on why Xcode believes there is no such module? Is there documentation that might help me learn how to make that framework available for my project?

"fdesetup add" appears to cause the loss of the Secure Token
Hello, I've noticed some unexpected behavior when updating a user's FileVault password. The set up: All actions are performed in virtualized macOS 14 and 15.5 guests on a 15.5 Apple Silicon host. FileVault is enabled. sjsp is a standard user with a Secure Token. The Mac is bound to AD, and the domain is reachable. Reproduction: systemctl -secureTokenStatus sjsp shows it's ENABLED. fdesetup remove -user sjsp fdesetup add -usertoadd sjsp systemctl -secureTokenStatus sjsp shows it's DISABLED. Surprisingly, sjsp is still able to unlock FileVault. Looking at unified logs for opendirectoryd and fdesetup, I see that a password change is being attempted in response to fdesetup add, which is unexpected. default 13:34:41.320883+0100 opendirectoryd Changing password for <private> (E5CC46D7-0C1F-4009-8421-9AA8217CB784) info 13:34:41.321317+0100 opendirectoryd No unlock record exists for E5CC46D7-0C1F-4009-8421-9AA8217CB784 info 13:34:41.321331+0100 opendirectoryd <private> (E5CC46D7-0C1F-4009-8421-9AA8217CB784) is not a SecureToken user: no unlock record default 13:34:41.321341+0100 opendirectoryd Changing password for <private> (E5CC46D7-0C1F-4009-8421-9AA8217CB784): user <private> SecureToken, only new password provided, credential <private> default 13:34:41.321454+0100 opendirectoryd Changing password for <private> (E5CC46D7-0C1F-4009-8421-9AA8217CB784) with no existing unlock record info 13:34:41.321857+0100 opendirectoryd No unlock record exists for E5CC46D7-0C1F-4009-8421-9AA8217CB784 default 13:34:41.321873+0100 opendirectoryd Record <private> (E5CC46D7-0C1F-4009-8421-9AA8217CB784) is eligible for SecureToken default 13:34:41.322637+0100 fdesetup DMAPFS cryptoUserForMacOSUserForVolume DMErr=-69594 retErr=-69594 outAPFSCryptoUser=(null) default 13:34:41.322699+0100 opendirectoryd While changing password for <private> (E5CC46D7-0C1F-4009-8421-9AA8217CB784): Not adding SecureToken; other unlock records exist, but no existing unlock record provided If I disconnect the network and follow the reproduction steps then the Secure Token is retained. Apple SCEP Clients Can’t Process FIPS‑Compliant RSA‑OAEP EnvelopedData
We are currently working on a SCEP server implementation that operates in FIPS-approved mode. In this mode, RSA PKCS#1 v1.5 encryption is disallowed due to compliance requirements, and only FIPS-approved padding schemes such as RSA-OAEP are permitted. However, we have observed that the SCEP client functionality on Apple devices currently does not support RSA-OAEP for CMS EnvelopedData decryption. This creates a challenge for us in ensuring FIPS compliance while maintaining compatibility with Apple devices during certificate enrollment through SCEP. We would appreciate your guidance on the following: Are there any alternative FIPS-approved encryption algorithms or configurations supported by Apple devices for SCEP CMS EnvelopedData decryption? Is there any plan or timeline for future support of RSA-OAEP on Apple platforms for this use case? Feedback raised along with sysdiagnose logs as well : FB17655410

Duplicated SCEP client certificates on iOS device
I am having an issue with duplicated SCEP client certificates on an iOS device. We deployed an SCEP profile via MDM, then deleted and redeployed it via MDM. In Settings > General > VPN & Device Management, only one SCEP profile is visible. However, Safari shows duplicated certificates when a server requests a client certificate. We have tried removing the cert profile on MDM and unenrolling the device from MDM, but only the latest certificate got removed, leaving previous ones stuck on the device or in the Safari app. We have found no way to remove these duplicated certificates other than factory reset the devices. This appears to be a potential iOS bug affecting certificate cleanup. We need assistance to resolve this issue. Also, the issue is difficult to reproduce but has happened to a number of our managed devices.

allowCamera on Unsupervised devices
Is there any mechanism to restrict camera usage on a user-owned device, once they have opted in, consented to the restriction, and installed a management profile? Documentation suggests it was possible with allowCamera, but has be deprecated on unsupervised devices. Am I understanding correctly that it's simply not possible anymore unless the device is supervised?
