Reality Composer to Reality Composer Pro?

I sketched a idea for a project in Reality Composer on my iPad, thinking when I had a chance to sit down I would work it up in Xcode.

However, when I got back to my computer, I discovered I cannot open a file created in Reality Composer (or the exported Reality file) in Reality Composer Pro.

Am I missing something obvious here, because this seems like a huge oversight.

If anyone, can let me know how to open a file created in Reality Composer in Reality Composer Pro, I would greatly appreciate it. Partly, because there seems to be objects available in Reality Composer that are not in Reality Composer Pro.

Thanks

Stan

On your iPad, go to Settings app > Reality Composer and ensure Enable USDZ Export is on. Then in Reality Composer app you should be able to export to USDZ. The USDZ can be imported into Reality Composer Pro.

@ForeverTangent Thank you for your question! As @cooleo pointed out, the recommended way to export from Reality Composer on iPad to Reality Composer Pro is to export your scene as a USDZ file. This can be enabled in the app settings of the Reality Composer app on iPad.

USD and its variants is the standard 3D asset file for RealityKit and Reality Composer Pro projects. You can also use third party DCCs, such as Blender, to produce USD content for your apps.

For some practical examples of how to use USD in your project, I recommend taking a look at two samples we just released for WWDC25: Petite Asteroids and Canyon Crosser. Both are fully scoped sample projects that heavily rely on RealityKit and RCP workflows.
