Trouble testing indoor positioning in Indoor Survey app

I am unable to do the "Test Indoor Positioning" step in the Indoor Survey map. It says "Indoor Positioning Inactive". The support email for the indoor maps team is not functional.

There are some points we need to clarify and some info we need to find out if the issue is with the app or the location.

For the survey app to work fully the location has to be registered, and you also have to be logged in as a valid location owners, or are appointed team members.

All this is explained at https://register.apple.com/indoor

There, you can also check if the IPS or survey work has gone through organization sign up and venue claim. and will actually show if the location has IPS enabled.

If you still have problems, to determine what the issue might be, we need the following info:

  1. which location are you trying to test?
  2. are you physically at the location at the time?
  3. has indoor survey for positioning been done before at this location?
  4. are you logged in as the valid location owner or appointed team member?

You can let me know all this, of if you don't want to share this kind of information publicly, you can send an email to maps-indoor-support @ apple.com with all this information and they will look up what the problem might be.

PS: if this was the email address you say is not functional and have not received any responses, reply to this thread when you send another email, and I will ping the team to expect your email.
