Find My Network System

Hey everyone, how’s it going? I’d like to know if, by enrolling in Apple’s MFi program, I’ll gain access to develop my own tags and my own app to track them using Apple’s Find network. I also read that there’s an estimated cost of $4 per device—does that apply to each device produced, or only at the time of registering the device, with no fee for additional units?

Hmmmm, there’s been a spate of Find My questions recently. I recommend that you review their answers. To view all the threads, go to the Find My tag page.

Note that MFi is under NDA and thus we can’t discuss the details here on the public forums.

As Quinn noted, the MFi Program is under NDA which limits the information I can publicly provide, however, I will try and answer what I can.

Yes, that's correct. More specifically, the Find My Network Accessory Program is managed as part of the Made for iPhone (MFi) Program, as described here.

and my own app to track them using Apple’s Find network.

We haven't released any public information on this, however, if you review the apps that support existing Find My Network Accessories you should be able to get a sense of the how apps can integrate with the Find My app.

I'm not going to talk about our licensing fees, however, the "$4 per device" number come from an 11 year old article on a rumor site which was noting how much LOWER that price was than our previous cost. I would not assume that number is at all accurate today.
