Clarification on App building SDK restriction from April 24th 2025

When i try to publish the app. I am getting this Warning.

ITMS-90725: SDK version issue - This app was built with the iOS 17.2 SDK. Starting April 24, 2025, all iOS and iPadOS apps must be built with the iOS 18 SDK or later, included in Xcode 16 or later, in order to be uploaded to App Store Connect or submitted for distribution.

I have few clarification on this.

How much time do we generally have to publish the apps. If i have a App that is successfully reviewed and certified from apple team and I have Chosen to "Manually release this Version".

Is it possible to Publish the App built using SDK 17.x After 24th April 2024. If the app is reviewed and certified before the April 24th timeline. If so, how long can i hold the published & certified app and publish. Without the need to rebuild and re-apply for certification.

Does it matter?

Suppose you publish app with the iOS 17 SDK and it's a big hit. But then you find a critical security bug. You have to update the SDK to iOS 18 to submit the fix. But now it won't build.

So why not build and test with iOS 18 today and avoid the problem altogether?

Yes it dose matter. In the situation we are currently in.

My Apps are build using Xamarain, where Xamarin has no support for SDK 18. This will force me to update me to MAUI. This is more than months effort to migrate test and fix all the UI issues.

I have server release planned in May 2025. and the corresponding changes in the app are ready, but i cannot publish until my Production is updated.

This is the situation we are now. So checking if there is a possibality to get the Current App reviewer and roll out after the server upgrade in May 2025.

FYI we have already started the Migration process. so if any critical bug comes we will publish it after migrating it to MAUI.
