Hi everyone! I would like to share my story and seek help, hoping that someone has experienced something similar and managed to resolve it. So, on behalf of my company, I wanted to sign up for the Apple Developer Program back in January this year. To give you a bit of context, it still hasn’t happened.
During the first attempt, we got to the point where, after a phone call, I just had to set up the payment details, which I did. Some time passed and nothing happened, Apple couldn’t process the payment or I couldn’t make the payment. Then, Apple suggested that since I started on the web, I should use the dedicated app, which I did, and they canceled the previous enrollment.
Now, the app gets stuck at the point where it wants to upload the images and data, and continuously says there’s a connection error and to try again later. This happens on every device I tried. Apple’s email support kept insisting that it’s my fault and I don’t have an internet connection. Yeah, right, a software developer is probably like a grandma who has never seen a computer, but whatever. I made a video showing that I have an active connection, but nothing impressed them and they couldn’t or didn’t want to help.
Then I tried again on the web, and this has happened 5 times since. I upload everything, they ask for some company documents, and either they accept them or not. And this is where the story stands. This nonsense has been going on since the end of January. It takes them weeks to reply, they constantly apologize and promise to really handle my case, and that I’m dealing with some high-level person now. Nothing happens.
During my last attempt, which is also my current one, the support agent wanted me to upload additional documents that would have cost an extra €1000 due to certified translations. I asked why and if they were serious, and whether I would still get screwed even after paying this money. The response was a big apology, saying they made a mistake and those documents weren’t needed, and that they would get back to me soon. This last email was 2-3 weeks ago.
What can be done in such a situation? This is very pathetic and frustrating. I can’t make money this way, I can’t generate revenue for them. Has anyone else been in this situation? If so, how did you resolve it? Thanks in advance for the help.
