We were recently approved for the "User Assigned Device Name" for a specific app Identifier. The "Additional Capabilities" tab isn't present on that App ID. I am an admin in the developer portal, and this does not appear for the account holder as well. Any help would be appreciated.
User Assigned Device Name, not showing up in User Assigned Device Name
Have you got this issue fixed? I am facing with this issue right now. My additional capabilities does not have "User Assigned Device Name".
We got a confirmation, but nothing changed under "Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles", so we sent another request, but still no possibility to enable "User Assigned Device Name" anywhere. Seems in the past there was a tab "Additional Capabilities" which is now named "Capability Requests", but I assume it is just a renaming.
Did anybody get this resolved?
There are limits to how much I can help you with this on the forums but…
If you’re asking about Team ID K________2
then I can see that it has access to the User Assigned Device Name for the App ID 2_________.c__.g_______.i___
.
Seems in the past there was a tab "Additional Capabilities" which is now named "Capability Requests", but I assume it is just a renaming.
No. Rather, the Capability Requests tab is focused just on requests. The Additional Capabilities tab is no more, and instead those capabilities show up in the main Capabilities tab.
IMPORTANT If a capability is limited to a specific App ID then it’ll only show up when you view that App ID. For example, my individual test team, SKMME9E2Y8
, has been granted the capability for a specific App ID, SKMME9E2Y8.com.example.apple-samplecode.TestDeviceName
. If I view some other App ID, I don’t see User Assigned Device Name in the list. I only see it when I view the SKMME9E2Y8.com.example.apple-samplecode.TestDeviceName
App ID.
